The Williams Trophy
The Vintage Sports-Car Club Williams Trophy Race for pre-1934 Grand Prix Cars features many of the type of cars who would have raced at Donington Park in the early Grand Prix of the 1920s and 30s. The Williams trophy, which belongs to the Bugatti Owners Club, is contested by pre-1934 two-seat Grand Prix cars, so this principally means Alfa Romeos and Bugattis. Last year's event was won by a Type 35 Bugatti so expect a strong defence from the Bugatti camp to retain the prize, which was originally won by the Englishman Grover-Williams as victor of the 1929 Monaco Grand Prix.
