HGPCA Race
for 'pre 1966 Grand Prix Cars
Although Auto Union produced the first rear-engined Grand Prix
cars, Cooper in the 60s really demonstrated how much more effective
they were than front-engined cars. By this time Ferrari were the
only challenge to the British teams but no rear-engined examples
from this manufacturer appear to have survived. Hence this pre-1966
celebration is mainly populated by Cooper, Lotus, Brabham and
BRM cars. As in many areas of historic racing, expect these cars
to be quicker than they were in contemporary time and still with
only 1½ litres.
